The first new-bank in Hungary

As a value-based bank, we are a community building financial institution, which aspires for active social participation together with its clients and consciously develops its environment. For this purpose, we provide connection opportunities between various interest groups, such as deposit owners, loan recipients, nonprofit organizations, private individuals and enterprises. We offer special decision-making rights to our clients, by which they have the opportunity to support organizations and their beneficial projects that are important to them. We believe that money is not a goal, rather an instrument.

2021

MagNet Bank has signed a contract to acquire Sopron Bank Burgenland.

2018

In the spring of 2018, Magnet Bank doubled its stock of mortgage loans by acquiring 54% of the outstanding mortgage credit stock of UCB Property Loan Zrt.

2016

In the spring of 2016, MagNet Bank acquired the Korona Kredit Mortgage Credit Zrt, thus further strengthening its 20 years of well capitalized unbroken operation of profitability.

2014

For the purpose of expanding its financing solutions for small and medium size businesses, MagNet purchased CE Faktor Zrt.

2013

Starting in March, MagNet, which managed to retain its profitability even during the crisis, became a bank in 100% Hungarian ownership.
Buyout of the Spanish community bank portion (30%) + purchase of Banco Popolare Hungary Zrt

2010

The first community deposit and loan products and the Community Donation Program are implemented in order to start operations. As pioneers on the Hungarian market, the bank provides its clients with special rights

2009

The management decides to establish the first Hungarian Community Bank by further development of the traditional bank model. The most important principles, values are laid down and finally the products are developed

2008

MagNet’s legal predecessor, HBW Express Takarékszövetkezet (Savings Cooperative) is transformed into a bank with the assistance of the Spanish Caja Navarra savings bank.
The Spanish community bank represents 30 percent in the ownership structure, while the Hungarian owners continue to represent 70 percent thereof.

Introduction of the NetBank service among the first market operators in Hungary.

As of January 1, 2017, The Supervisory Board performs the tasks of the Audit Committee defined by the Credit Institutional Law (HPT).

We have created a bank where we would be happy to bank as well. Fáy Zsolt vagyok és 1995 óta mint egyik fő alapító tulajdonos, és mint az igazgatóság elnöke fontos szerepet vállaltam a HBW Express Takarékszövetkezet felfuttatásában, jelenleg a jogutód MagNet Magyar Közösségi Bank egyik fő részvényese
és igazgatóságának elnöke vagyok.

Eredeti végzettségem informatikus, diplomámat a Budapesti Műszaki Egyetemem szereztem. Nős vagyok, 3 gyerekem van. A családom adja azt a biztos hátteret, ami nélkül a mai gyorsan és kiszámíthatatlanul változó világhoz alkalmazkodás lehetetlen lenne számomra.



2008-ban hosszú, gondos előkészítés után egy a saját hazájában, Spanyolországban úttörőnek számító közösségi bankkal, a Caja Navarrával arról állapodtunk meg, hogy tőkeemelés révén 30%-os tulajdont szerez a takarékszövetkezetben, és ezzel lehetővé teszi a bankká átalakítást. Igaz, ezzel a magyar tulajdonosok aránya 70%-ra csökkent, de a többségi hazai részesedést akkor is meg tudtuk őrizni. Számomra a többségi magyar tulajdon megőrzése és a közösségi banki értékrend már akkor nagyon fontos volt, így komoly mérföldkő volt számunkra, mikor 2013-ban újra 100%-ig magyar kézbe került a MagNet Bank. A pénzügyi válság hatására még jobban elköteleződtem a banki működés számomra egyetlen hosszú távon életképesnek tűnő formája, a közösséget és annak érdekeit sokkal jobban figyelembe vevő közösségi bank eszméje mellett. Tudom, hogy még nagyon sok munka hátra van, de még fiatalnak érzem magam, és remélem, lesz is erőm az első magyar közösségi bank kiteljesítéséhez, és mindannyiunk számára bebizonyosodik, hogy az úttörő szerepünk jó irányba viszi a hazai pénzügyi kultúrát!



A munkában is segít, hogy legkisebb lányom születése óta jógázom. Úgy érzem, a jóga során magamévá tett szemléletnek is fontos szerepe volt abban, hogy felismerjem, mi fontos igazán a mai világban, ezen belül mi fontos a pénzügyekben és a banki működésben.
