You can request a Visa Electron card for your current account, which can be used for shopping and cash withdrawal in Hungary and abroad as well. There is no need to open a separate account to cover your debit card transactions, but an amount equivalent to your daily limit is blocked in your current account for safety reasons. Our debit card fees are very favourable.

You can request the blocking of your debit card by

• visiting us in person or calling any of the branches of the Issuer during opening hours
• calling the Hungarian Volksbank Call Center on 06-40/41-42-43 on weekdays between 8:00 and 16:30
• calling the GBC Customer Service seven days a week, 24 hours a day on  (+36) 1/421-2299

Should you request the blocking of your debit card by telephone, you will need to confirm your request in writing by visiting any of the branches on the working day following your request.
